New Stuff–Sneak Peak of Summer Mini Goodies

Fabulous Garden
The Summer Mini is here and WOW! it is awesome.  In addition to the gorgeous Strength and Hope that you’ve already had the opportunity to order, there are terrific nautical stamps and paper and from the Beyond the Garden Suite we have Designer Series Paper that coordinates with new embossing powder, a stamp set, a new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and more all in gorgeous spring colors.
So here’s a peak at some of the new and some of the old.  I love how you can coordinate exisiting items with the brand new.  I think that is what makes Stampin’ Up! so popular with serious and casual paper and fabric crafters.  Just so versatile.  I used the gorgeous Basic Pearls from the Jewels collection in the big catalog, textured Melon Mambo cardstock, a new embossing folder and paper.  Shelli’s challenge for April on soshelli.com is to bring in Spring.  I think I’ve found a way with this card.  Enjoy!

All the items from the Summer Mini will be available to you on May 1st.  Give me a shout if you need a catalog.  Remember, you can shop my online store 24/7.

The Right Time–Stamping 411–SSC197

I feel a little overwhelmed this week.  I don’t have much on my schedule so decided to spend some time each day re-organizing my stamping studio (which is a fancy name for the laundry room!).  It’s not working.  I am so easily distracted that I can’t seem to complete any tasks.  I will walk in here to send an email, see a stack of stuff to sort through, and completely forget to send the email.  I guess this type of behavior is common as we get a little older, but it is killing me!

So, last night as I was closing up the “studio”, I saw the Stamping 411 sketch challenge on my table and decided to play.  (I’ve been trying to organize challenges and there are so many terrific ones in addition to SCS  - well, that’s overwhelming too.)  Anyway, Stamping 411 is an AWESOME resource for stampers.  The samples they share and challenge submissions are SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only – and that is what enticed me. I finally got to bed around 1AM all pumped up because I finished something!

My last order brought a set from Shelli’s collection called Sense of Time.  I ordered this because I have gone bonkers over the vintage rave in the crafting world right now. I am making a vintage journal using products from our Distressing Kit and decided to continue the theme with this card.  I also really enjoy getting a little grungy.  Hope you enjoy The Right Time.

Bella Eats!!!

Well, it was the cutest thing.  Last week the parents got the go ahead to start feeding the little princess rice cereal twice a day.  They waited until we arrived the next day before they fed her for the first time.  (Wasn’t that sweet?) Cameras, camera phones and video camera ready, we prepared the cereal with much discussion in English and Mandarin Chinese on the consistency, put the little darlin’ in the bumbo and introduced the little spoon to her sweet little mouth.

I don’t know exactly what she thought, but even though she is as cute as the Gerber baby on the box, she absolutely did not understand why or what we were doing.  First attempt went as expected.  Lots of food on the face, not much in the mouth.  I don’t know if it was the actual feeding or all the hoopla going on around her, but she had had enough in short order.  (We knew the first few feedings are simply to introduce the spoon, but, alas, she didn’t know that!)MARCH 2011 EATING

The next day proved a little better and she is doing much better this week.  She is ready to move from the extremely bland rice cereal to something more tasty- like pizza!

Blessings,

Diane (Mimi)

Just Two More Weeks to SALE-A-BRATE!!!!

Don't let the biggest Stampin' Up! event of the year slip by without taking advantage of FREE Sale-A-Bration items.  Stock up on your stamping and scrapping basics (glue sticks, designer paper, cardstock, tape runners, ribbon)- just $50 in product and you can choose from terrific stamps sets, ribbon, buttons, paper and digital images.  We only do this once a year.  I love the items I have already received for FREE and there are a couple more I must have before the order deadline of March 31, 2011.  Remember, you can order 24/7 on my Stampin;' Up! website.

Here's a sweet card I made from SAB stamps and items from the Occasions Mini.  I call it "Quilted Bliss" and it reminds me of the quilts my mother and grandmother (and great-grandmother) made when I was a child.  My mom, age 85, still makes beautiful handmade quilts.  I have played at it, but found that I just need to stick to stamping.....

This is a near CASE (Copy and Share Everywhere) of fellow stamper Maria Sanchez.  I think it is one of the prettiest cards I've ever made, even if I say so myself.

Busy week ahead- out of town for a day or so, then to Franklin to see sweet, precious Isabella.  I pray that you will have a wonderful and peaceful week.

Blessings,

Diane

Scripture Stampers: I have no greater joy….3 John 4

Shelli Gardner, Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up! challenged all demonstrators to add one Stampin’ Up! activity during 2011 during Leadership in January.  The campaign is called +ONE and encourages each of us to share what we love with those we love.

I have wanted to start a Stamp Club ever since I became a demonstrator, so I decided to move forward and invite some of my treasured friends to join me in creating Scripture Stampers, a monthly group of six meeting the last week of the month.  Each member will rotate hostess duties for the 6 month period and receive hostess benefits during that month.

Every meeting we will make a Scripture Card that showcases a Bible verse chosen by that month’s hostess.  The first meeting was a couple of weeks ago and we made a cute little box to hold the cards (courtesy of Sharon Johnson- No Time To Stamp).  Hostess Judy Bell chose one of my favorites:

I have no greater joy than to hear

that my children are walking in the truth.

                                            3 John 4

My husband and I are so blessed to have two wonderful sons who are devoted to Christ.  They honor us each day with their love of God and their family.  So this verse is very special to me, as well as the other members of our group.

Each month our scripture card will include elements, colors and accessories from the Springtime Vintage Suite in the Occasions Mini.  I love everything about it- paper, fabric, ribbon, embellishments, etc.  Most of the items in the Mini will not be available after May 31, 2011, so it may be a good idea to stock up now.  I know I am.

Until next time….I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Blessings,

Diane

Artistic Amour–Mojo Monday Challenge 178

It has been awhile since I last posted and even longer since I participated in a challenge.  But I have so much new stuff from Stampin’ Up! that I wanted to showcase and a terrific challenge is the best way.  Mojo Monday produces fantastic creations from the most talented artists in cyberworld and I always enjoy studying new techniques.

Today I chose to go vintage using Stampin’ Up!’s gorgeous Love Letter Designer Series Paper, a little strip from Newsprint and the beautiful Artistic Etchings stamp set.  I embedded two of the paper circles on another piece of patterned paper using the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder.  This is such an easy and WOW technique.  Then I cut a strip of designer paper from Newsprint about 1” X 12” and scored at 1/4 all the way around to make my ruffle circle.  I ruffled the pretty Basic Black satin ribbon using sticky strip and making little ruffles all the way down.  The sentiment is stamped on Very Vanilla then run through the crimper.  I just love the look.

Mojo178 Love Letter

Thanks for taking time to look.  We are on the way to our son’s home today to spend a few days with our brand new granddaughter, Isabella.  She is 2-1/2 months old and I haven’t seen her in 5 weeks due to illness- that’s half her life!  So, you probably know how excited I am!!!

Blessings,

Diane
