New Stuff–Sneak Peak of Summer Mini Goodies

Fabulous Garden
The Summer Mini is here and WOW! it is awesome.  In addition to the gorgeous Strength and Hope that you’ve already had the opportunity to order, there are terrific nautical stamps and paper and from the Beyond the Garden Suite we have Designer Series Paper that coordinates with new embossing powder, a stamp set, a new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and more all in gorgeous spring colors.
So here’s a peak at some of the new and some of the old.  I love how you can coordinate exisiting items with the brand new.  I think that is what makes Stampin’ Up! so popular with serious and casual paper and fabric crafters.  Just so versatile.  I used the gorgeous Basic Pearls from the Jewels collection in the big catalog, textured Melon Mambo cardstock, a new embossing folder and paper.  Shelli’s challenge for April on soshelli.com is to bring in Spring.  I think I’ve found a way with this card.  Enjoy!

All the items from the Summer Mini will be available to you on May 1st.  Give me a shout if you need a catalog.  Remember, you can shop my online store 24/7.

The Right Time–Stamping 411–SSC197

I feel a little overwhelmed this week.  I don’t have much on my schedule so decided to spend some time each day re-organizing my stamping studio (which is a fancy name for the laundry room!).  It’s not working.  I am so easily distracted that I can’t seem to complete any tasks.  I will walk in here to send an email, see a stack of stuff to sort through, and completely forget to send the email.  I guess this type of behavior is common as we get a little older, but it is killing me!

So, last night as I was closing up the “studio”, I saw the Stamping 411 sketch challenge on my table and decided to play.  (I’ve been trying to organize challenges and there are so many terrific ones in addition to SCS  - well, that’s overwhelming too.)  Anyway, Stamping 411 is an AWESOME resource for stampers.  The samples they share and challenge submissions are SUO – Stampin’ Up! Only – and that is what enticed me. I finally got to bed around 1AM all pumped up because I finished something!

My last order brought a set from Shelli’s collection called Sense of Time.  I ordered this because I have gone bonkers over the vintage rave in the crafting world right now. I am making a vintage journal using products from our Distressing Kit and decided to continue the theme with this card.  I also really enjoy getting a little grungy.  Hope you enjoy The Right Time.

Bella Eats!!!

Well, it was the cutest thing.  Last week the parents got the go ahead to start feeding the little princess rice cereal twice a day.  They waited until we arrived the next day before they fed her for the first time.  (Wasn’t that sweet?) Cameras, camera phones and video camera ready, we prepared the cereal with much discussion in English and Mandarin Chinese on the consistency, put the little darlin’ in the bumbo and introduced the little spoon to her sweet little mouth.

I don’t know exactly what she thought, but even though she is as cute as the Gerber baby on the box, she absolutely did not understand why or what we were doing.  First attempt went as expected.  Lots of food on the face, not much in the mouth.  I don’t know if it was the actual feeding or all the hoopla going on around her, but she had had enough in short order.  (We knew the first few feedings are simply to introduce the spoon, but, alas, she didn’t know that!)MARCH 2011 EATING

The next day proved a little better and she is doing much better this week.  She is ready to move from the extremely bland rice cereal to something more tasty- like pizza!

Blessings,

Diane (Mimi)
